He aha te tūranga - About the role:
As the Head of Business Insights, you will lead the development and delivery of integrated commercial and operational insights which drive collaboration across teams and provides the business with clear, meaningful and actionable data. Working closely with the Finance & Business Insights Senior Leadership Team (F&BI SLT) and the Digital & Data team, you will develop and implement a Business Intelligence strategy that balances business priorities and technical capabilities.
- Development of business insights and data analysis across the range of data and information sources within Hato Hone St John to provide actionable insights.
- Develop, maintain, and implement the BI strategy, plans, associated policies, standards, reporting definitions and guidelines to ensure we are adopting best practice, modern and relevant practices.
- Leverage Power BI / Microsoft Fabric to deliver and maintain impactful user-friendly dashboards bringing together commercial and non-financial analysis.
- Build strong stakeholder-oriented perspectives in the delivery of required outcomes.
- Guide capability-building efforts within the BI function, ensuring consistency and alignment in approach and delivery.
- Collaborate with the Digital & Data team on the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions.

Are you a commercially savvy and technically skilled leader who excels at building strong relationships and delivering tailored, relevant insights? Success will require the following:
- Extensive senior leadership experience within a large complex organisation with demonstrable success integrating commercial and operating data to drive performance improvements.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and tailor solutions to diverse needs.
- Strategic vision, with ability to combine technical data capabilities with commercial acumen to deliver relevant and articulate insights.
- Technical expertise in tools like PowerBI and Microsoft Fabric and proven knowledge of data warehousing methodologies.
