Job Description

He aha te tūranga - About the role: 

An integral member of the Aoraki District, you will provide administrative, project and event based support to the wider District Youth Leadership team. 

Critical to this role will be your ability to work collaboratively with the District and Area Youth Managers to support program delivery with a focus on large scale events and administration such as venue bookings, arranging catering, AI and RAAP support, collation of paperwork, trophy engraving, certificates, and transport plan contacts etc. As a member of the Leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Relief Leaders and Project Volunteers within the District including recruitment, support, engagement and encouraging team involvement in all aspects of the Youth Programme.

Highly motivated and enthusiastic, you have a proven ability to identify with, and interact confidently, with young people and adults. A team player, you lead by example and this is demonstrated in your positive, honest, and constructive approach.

Some key requirements:

  • Maintain a minimum Level 1 First Aid qualification
  • Proven leadership skills
  • A real team player with a keen interest in working with young people
  • Strong administration, organisational, planning and time management skills
  • An aptitude for working with a diverse demographic group e.g. age, culture, background
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-aware and capable of engaging people
  • Previous Youth knowledge/experience is ideal
