We're seeking a Paramedic looking for a development opportunity across the Emergency Ambulance Operations & Clinical Hub Desk team in Auckland. This is a permanent fulltime role that offers the best of both worlds. This will suit a fulltime operations member providing the opportunity to expand your skill set working 21 hours on the road and 21 hours at the Clinical Desk, working a 4 x 4 roster (4 days on 4 days off).
In addition to your operational responsibilities, Clinical Support Officers support our front lines teams respond to emergencies 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. As a vital member of our team, you'll be enhancing patient outcomes by offering clinical advice, support, and guidance to our operational road staff and ambulance communications staff in the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC). You will be undertaking secondary triage of those waiting for an ambulance, providing real-time advice, to ensure they are appropriately triaged for clinical care. This role is a 4x4 roster and includes a combination of day, swings and night shifts, based in Mt Wellington, Auckland.
Qualifications
Ko wai koe - About you:
- Performing clinical telephone triage and assessments to ensure that appropriate care and dispatch decisions are made and implemented.
- Liaising directly with other members of the wider Clinical Hub such as the Medical Director and the patient care plan team
- Working collaboratively with Ambulance communications and Clinical support staff across the country
- A current Authority to Practice at Paramedic level or above and have experience in Field operations
- The ability to work with and relate to people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- A current full clean New Zealands driver's licence
- A clean criminal record
- To be registered with Te Kaunihera Manapou Paramedic Council (or ability to, or can show evidence of application submission) - check out https://www.paramediccouncil.org.nz/

- Competitive salary. Entry rate for qualified Paramedics is $84,169 ($38.54 gross hourly rate). Increasing to $92,887 after 4 years' service. Further information on other qualifications can be discussed on enquiry.
- Clinical Support Officers will receive an allowance in addition to base Paramedic rate.
- Penal rates will be paid for unsocial hours (nights and weekends)
- Our service covers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As a Clinical Support Officer your shifts will be 12-hour shifts (days, swings and nights)- in a four on and four off, delivering clinical support and other clinical deliverable's such as education.
