Job Description

Studio BIM Leads provide local direction and ensure Hassell’s BIM goals and capabilities are aligned across all studios. As a senior member of the global Hassell BIM community, you will coordinate, collaborate, and provide local input to the BIM Leadership Group and Global Design Technology community you are helping through leadership, training, process, and technology implementation. Additionally, the role is responsible for supporting training, mentoring, and overseeing activities of the local Studio BIM Team.

  • Collaborate with the Global Design Technology Team & BIM Leads to implement Global Design Technology Strategy and ensure changes in procedure and standards will be communicated and implimented within project teams.
  • Develop and implement a local plan to drive BIM excellence within the studio.
  • Increase BIM skill within studio to become more proficient in BIM technology and processes.
  • Improve project delivery outcomes through the application of appropriate design technology-related techniques and strategies.
  • Train, mentor, and oversee activities of BIM Managers and Project BIM Managers while also coaching them to Increase quality, predictability, schedule and cost of projects.
  • Participate in the BIM Leadership Group and Hassell BIM community to share lessons learned and proven practices.
  • Actively involved in mentoring and upskilling the Project teams BIM capabilities.
  • Through expert knowledge; ensures compliance with Hassell’s procedures and BIM & Revit standards.
  • Support Project Leaders to define BIM scope to include appropriate fees and inclusions/exclusions.
  • Provide advice to Project Leaders through reviews of relevent BIM clauses within contracts and agreements.
  • Establish project-specific Digital Engineering and BIM Management Plans, define Level of Detail (LoD) to existing Hassell MEA (Model Element Matrix) standards.
  • Set up Project BIM’s in conjunction with BIM Manager, including; project structure, the definition of BIM deliverables, data exchange formats and effective workflows.
  • Optimise the efficiency and quality of Hassell BIM processes and deliverables and support the enhancement of Hassell Quality Assurance practices

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Architectural Technology, or related discipline within the built environment.
  • 10+years of expert-level Revit and BIM project experience on large complex projects
  • Proven experience implementing BIM standards and workflows.
  • Established experience supporting company and client standards and BIM objectives.
  • 5+ years experience in commercial negotiation in regards to BIM scope and deliverables.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and guide large and diverse teams.
  • Experience in other BIM design and delivery tools (e.g. Navisworks, Rhino, Dynamo, BIM360, Aconex, dRofus).
  • Extensive experience managing BIM processes and teams to meet project goals and deliverables.
  • Experience establishing Project BIM requirements, including; project structure, defining BIM deliverables, data exchange formats, and effective workflows within a design team.
  • Reporting of BIM performance and BIM Team member competencies.
  • Demonstrated capacity to assist project teams in BIM management and coordination with clients, engineers and consultants.
  • Experience in delivering Revit training and relavent best practice and standards, and identify skill gaps with a goal of continuous improvement for all project staff.
  • Experience implementing relevant new technologies and processes.
