Job Description Summary
The primary responsibility of Digital Infrastructure Architect is to design automation solutions for Dimension Data and our clients. This includes Lead architectural work for major initiatives to transform customer’s global infrastructure to be ready for the next generation of digital applications.
What you'll be doing
- Lead architectural work for major initiatives to transform customers global infrastructure to be ready for the next generation of digital applications
- Design automation solutions
- Integrate different existing products to create added value to the customer
- Install and configure different network controllers
- Consult customers on how to integrate automation solutions, how to standardize and help them transform the way they operate their infrastructure.
Qualifications
A successfully completed technical studies (for example, computer science, engineering, electrical engineering) or equivalent technical training
Solid experience in IT architecture and design, more than 5 years desired.
Deep hands-on technical knowledge in:
- Server hardware and operating systems
- Data storage
- IP Networking
- Software-defined compute, storage and network
- Infrastructure automation and orchestration
- Containers and container management
- Public cloud services
- DevOps techniques and tooling
- Very good knowledge in Python
Specific products where knowledge would be an asset:
- Linux (all common distributions)
- VMWare
- AWS or Azure
Knowledge of methodologies such as TOGAF, Lean Enterprise, Agile, Scrum
Collaborative and open working style
A structured approach combined with a very careful, accurate and results-oriented approach, particularly in problem analysis
Strong customer and service orientation combined with good work etiquette, good communication and teamwork skills
Fluent English and good German skills (in speaking and writing)
