Job Description
To support all IT related aspects nationally for JLT South Africa including software. Candidate will have access to third parties to deliver services and a Group support model. Maintain a functional end user environment on a day to day basis as well as implement group strategies and local IT support through external service providers.
Key Objectives of the Job
Delivered Administrative Support:
- To act as a point of contact and an advocate for IT in SA. This includes supporting country, regional and group strategies, acting as an advocate with suppliers including group and a point of escalation for service delivery (incident, problem, change, capacity etc.).
- Project oversight of all change projects – with full hands on project and programme management.
- Local implementation and communication of group IT projects.
- Act as a point of escalation and local coordinator for major incidents or service issues.
- Production of monthly reporting and tracking of service metrics and their trends.
- Update and implement national IT policies and protocols, in-line with JLT Group
- Manage all third party ICT service providers
- Update senior management on strategic systems conversions and integrations in support of business goals and objectives.
- Prepare ICT objectives and budgets to facilitate the orderly and efficient capture, storage, processing, and dissemination of information.
- Responsible for the development, review, and certification of all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans.
- Ensure the security of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment.
- As part of Global IT Transformation, communicate emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company.
- Assess new computing technologies to determine potential value for the company
- Oversee ongoing improvements and the feasibility of system enhancements
- Maintain company infrastructure to support and guide individual divisions/departments/sites in
- computing and information technology efforts
- Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; in-line with overall IT strategy
- Serve on planning and policy-making committees
- Ensure all existing IT services and new projects are delivered within agreed timescales and budget
Compliance Management:
- Comply with all statutory and company regulations to protect clients and business interests
- Ensure all JLT Group IT policy requirements are adhered to which will be validated via internal audit
People, learning and development:
- Actively monitor own performance and meet individual targets as set out in performance scorecard
- Acquire and maintain required level of product, technical and regulatory knowledge as appropriate to the role
Competency Requirements of the Job
Required technical knowledge:
- Ability to work in a diverse business over a number of regions with multiple stakeholders; Experience of using third parties and a larger Group organisation to deliver steady state services and change; project/portfolio management.
Required technical skills:
- Knowledge of ITIL or similar frameworks; exposure to the management of software developed by third parties (Waterfall, Agile, etc); A high level technical understanding of infrastructure (networks, end user computing in particular); leading geographically disbursed delivery teams.
- Experience in execution of strategic plans. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of information technology computer systems and software and the ability to manage the entire spectrum of information technology operations. Experience with implementation of information technology integrations in a medium size division/company.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications:
- Matric
- IT Degree or equivalent qualification; PRINCE2 or PMP
Required job related experience:
- Minimum of two years in an IT related field, incorporating user support, service provider relationship management and IT audits.
