We are the clients of Sulb Company BSC (closed), our Services to Sulb company is to provide slag management, Scrap cutting, Under Furnace Digging, Scrap cutting & lancing, Finish Product handling and arrangement. Semi Product handling & arrangement & Yard controlling, maintenance and other onsite steel plant services to their fully integrated facility at Hidd plant since 2012.

Job Description

Scope of Work: Sorting and loading semi-finish product (Billet) materials on the trailer by 30 tons magnet overhead crane in Mill Shop.  

 

Manning Level: Overhead Crane 30 tons. 

 

1.   Purpose of the Position:

Ensure that all crane & equipment used operate safely & within the quality standards. Ensure productivity for the plant is within financial and legislative framework, and with minimum disruption to the Environment.

2.   Detailed Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Operators to ensure that they follow the approved Standard Operating Procedures in a safe manner
  2. To clearly communicate the key performance indicators from his seniors and ensure the targets are achieved.
  3. Ensure that House Keeping standards are maintained
  4. Report all safety deviations/defects on equipment immediately
  5. Ensure the cranes & lifting equipment safety inspected.
  6. Ensure all crane requirements within the section’s scope are met
  7. Follow the Schedule the shipping according to the priority schedule
  8. Assist Maintenance Dept. with all breakdown work & preventative maintenance.
  9. Ensuring the requirements of the company’s QHSE Integrated Management System complies with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015.
  10. Carries out any other task assigned by the Supervisor, Superintendent and Manager Logistics & PPC.

3.   Information security roles and responsibilities of employees:

  1. Ensure to comply and adhere to the information security policies, procedures and guidelines of Harsco
  2. Information systems shall be handled in a secure manner to avoid any unauthorized disclosure of information, breach of confidentiality and integrity and its availability during every step of its creation, storage, processing and transmission.
  3. Actual or suspected security incidents should be reported promptly to the information security function of Harsco.
  4. Loss of any information asset should be reported immediately by users to their respective business heads and the information security function of Harsco.
  5. Ensure that access privileges are in accordance with the user’s job descriptions/ business justification.
  6. Ensure active participation in security awareness trainings, as may be assigned from time to time, to improve awareness of responsibilities and obligations with respect to the proper use of information systems.

4.   Safety, Health,  Environment  &  Quality  System Responsibilities:

 

  1. Follow safe work practices at all times.
  2. Report, investigate and monitor incidents in the work area, conduct and participate in all activities relating to removal of hazards.
  3. Assist in the identification of hazards arising from activities in work area, ensuring that all are communicated to relevant personnel in    order to maintain a hazard free work area.
  4. Actively participate in the implementation of Safety Policy. Communicate to subordinates regularly on safe work practices.
  5. Provide a means by which subordinates can communicate his/her safety concerns. Ensure to act on the safety concern raised by the subordinate if possible, otherwise, forward it to relevant department for action.
  6. Report all activities / incidents to E&S Personnel that may cause Health, Safety & Environmental harm regardless of severity.
  7. Ensure to follow all Government and Company rules and management directives, regulations and policies relating to Health, Safety Environmental control.
  8. Ensuring the requirements of the Company’s QHSE System is complied with.

5.   Accountabilities:

  1. Accountable for establishing adequate Health& Safety control measures at workplace.
  2. Accountable for effective implementation of Health& Safety system at workplace.
  3. Accountable for ensuring the compliance to legal and other requirements.
  4. Accountable for effective corrective actions for any nonconformity observed.

6.   Crane Operator  Exercised:

  1. Crane Operation Activities. 

7.   Minimum Requirements:

7.1  Qualifications & Training:

      a. Vocational Training Certificate from a recognized institute.

      7.2  Experience:

      a.  Vocational Training with 5 year experience in a similar type of industry or in heavy steel industry

      7.3  Skills:

  1. Overhead crane, Jib crane Operation.
  2. Understanding the Tooling used for Material handling with crane.
  3. Understanding the signals for crane operation.
  4. Safety precautions while crane operation.

 

  1. The ability to approach problems and situations in a step-by-step way.
  2. The ability to work with others to achieve shared goals.
  3. Experience in OHC Magnet operations.
  4. Experience in the movement of Steel Finished Sections.

Qualifications

High School with Diploma in Crane Operations 4 & 5
