Job Description

  • Administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company’s databases.
  • Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication and other distributed data issues.
  • Assist in analyzing proposed systems and recommending improvements to existing systems.
  • Participate in releasing database changes, related to application deployments. 
  • Implement data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes.
  • Develop flowcharts, diagrams and methods for solving business problems, being particularly concerned with database design and implementation.
  • Produce and maintain complete database systems documentation.
  • Design, implement and maintain databases to support the goals and strategies of the division.
  • May require effort to support database development and operations across divisions.
  • Ensure all database administration related activities comply with the global Harsco compliance standards and procedures.
  • Work with the clients and the applications manager to solve business problems with little or no direct supervision.
  • Excellent knowledge of database backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer discipline or relevant certification. 
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
  • SQL Server Security: User security best practices; Database Encryption; Audit; Change management.
  • Database Availability: Understand backup and Recovery; Replication; AlwaysOn; DB Maintenance; DB Tuning & Optimization; Troubleshooting; Oncall
  • SQL Server Management: Windows OS; Monitoring; Powershell; Storage; VM; Memory; Patching; Job Management; Extended Events
  • Data Architect: T-SQL; Database creation; Database Design; SPs
  • Change Tracking; Change Data Capture Job management
  • Other DBA Tasks: SSIS; SSRS; SSAS; data imports and extracts
