Harsco Rail offers contract services for Rail Grinding and has been grinding rail for over 50 years, covering more than 300,000 km (192,000 miles) in the last 7 years.

Job Description

  • Project installations
  • Install Technical and Service Bulletins
  • Carry out R&D prior to installations
  • Support Maintenance Department activities
  • Support field service activities within EMEA

Qualifications

•    Preferred recognised qualification in mechanical / electrical / maintenance engineering or a minimum of five years’ experience in an associated trade

•    Technical Skills e.g.

o    Knowledge & understanding in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, electronic, fault finding & repair
o    IT literate including basic knowledge of Microsoft systems 
o    Understanding of rail plant operating systems

•    Role requirements e.g.
o    Full valid driving licence
o    PTS (Personal Track Safety) certificate
o    Ability to use & follow reference information to assist repairs
o    Basic understanding of Health & Safety, relevant to the role
o    Written & verbal communication skills
o    Able to work on own initiative
o    Problem Solving and identifying solutions

Technical Skills at Level 2    Hydraulic, Electrical, Pneumatic, Mechanical, Calibration, Fault Finding, Machine Computers, Engines.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Work as directed by the EMEA Service Manager
  • Adheres to company policies & procedures & work instructions
  • Inform manager of any issues / problems in a timely manner, which are outside your remit of control
  • Awareness of company communication, i.e. e-mails, etc
  • Be responsible for the care of company assets in the individuals possession
  • To undertake training as required
  • Ensure compliance with competence assessment systems
  • Flexibility to travel and lodge as required by the company
  • Comply with the Company Code of Conduct
