As Director of Engineering, you will have the opportunity to impact our future growth trajectory by developing and implementing strategic plans for both facilities and process technologies for our operations throughout the U.S.  In this role, you will work in close collaboration in Facility Managers, Operations Managers, and senior leadership in prioritizing, budgeting, and proposing CapEx projects to meet the overall objectives and resources of Clean Earth.  Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, you’ll hire, train, and manage a team of elite engineers and technicians to implement your strategic plans, managing projects from concept through delivery.

You will be at the forefront of evaluating emerging technologies for possible adoption and will propose those that could advance Clean Earth’s growth objectives:

  • Manage complex engineering projects, both equipment and facilities, end-to-end
  • Evaluate current state and develop strategies, priorities and roadmap to achieve best-in-class waste processing operations
  • Develop annual engineering strategic and tactical plans including CapEx budget.  Responsible for execution of approved budget, timelines, and result
  • Design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources.
  • Define engineering and technical staffing needs.  Hire, train and manage direct reports and manage other technicians and contractors on a project basis
  • Monitor, identify and propose implementation of innovative technologies that will keep Clean Earth in the leading position to provide value-added, cost effective waste processing services to customers
  • Work closely with Facility and Operations Managers to capture and address permit modifications to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Review and update policies and procedures relevant to internal operational equipment

This position requires up to 75% travel, primarily domestically with occasional international trips

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in chemical process operations
  • 5+ years of experience in senior-level engineering management
  • 5+ years managing capital projects
  • Experience managing Engineering Department budgets

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with waste treatment facilities and equipment
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA regulations
