Job Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Follow permit requirements to collect and test compounds and samples, using applied methods and techniques, and policies of this company
  • Enter quantities, volumes and analytical results into waste management software (WMS/Preview)
  • Assist with QA/QC analytical screening parameters as dictated by permit.
  • Follow all approved Laboratory SOPs
  • Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards including the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical agents.  
  • Assist in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment

Qualifications

  Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in an Environmental  Science Field,  Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry 
  • One or more year(s) experience in environmental lab
  • Working knowledge of standard laboratory procedures and the ability to learn new processes. 
  • Complete 40-hour OSHA training with 8-hour refresher courses

Preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software to draft laboratory reports and enter test results
  • Ability to complete various paperwork requirements properly.
  • operational knowledge of tools, equipment and tasks on job.

  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.

  • Demonstrates the ability to conduct and lead daily safety meetings.

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to regularly access and use general office equipment including phones, computers, copiers, etc.
  • Must be able to work in a busy, often distracting work environment that is generally climate controlled.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
