Job Description

  • This position is directly responsible for the supervision of employees in the manufacturing area and carries out the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing daily work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • This position is also responsible for the safety of employees and safe work conditions of their area.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education or Experience

  • AS and 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
  • High school diploma and 7+ years manufacturing leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications: Education or Experience

  • 5 plus years of manufacturing operations experience
  • BS degree
  • Knowledge of custom manufacturing operations including fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, testing, and manufacturing engineering.
  • 2-5 plus years of lean manufacturing experience

Technical Skills

  • Requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Requires the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and the ability to speak effectively before groups.
  • Requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumferences, and volume.
  • Requires the ability to resolve everyday practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
