Adult Psychiatrist: General & ADHD - Harley Street (GMC Specialist Register)

  • Contract

Job Description

Focus on the clinical work you love.

The Opportunity

Over the last 20 years, Harley Therapy has provided the infrastructure for independent practitioners to build and retain thriving private practices through our well-appointed consulting rooms and comprehensive administrative support.

Many of the practitioners who work with us have been here for over a decade. They describe it as the arrangement that allows them to put patients first, free from the non-clinical duties and bureaucracy that often weigh down a consultant's schedule.

How it Works

You operate your own private practice and retain full clinical responsibility, while we provide the professional ecosystem around you:

  • Centralised Marketing: A consistent flow of high-quality referrals with no self-promotion required.

  • Full Admin Support: Our team acts as your agent for all enquiries, bookings, payments and insurance administration six days a week.

  • Bespoke Infrastructure: Access to a custom booking system and optional guidance on use of tools designed to streamline your clinical workflow.

  • Clinical Freedom: Spend your energy on the therapeutic relationship, not paperwork.

Availability & Earnings

We are inviting applications from psychiatrists with expertise in General Adult Psychiatry and ADHD assessments.

  • Commitment: Ideally a minimum of one day per week (8-hour clinic) at our Harley Street rooms. Additional sessions are possible.

  • Earnings: After room and admin fees, you can expect to earn approximately £1,000 per ADHD assessment and £350+ for general assessments.

  • Flexibility: No room fees are charged when you take time off.

Who This Suits

This arrangement is designed for consultants who are warm, engaging, and therapeutically-informed. We value practitioners who genuinely love working with their patients and are looking for a stable, long-term private setting.

Requirements :

  • Current GMC registration on the Specialist Register with appropriate indemnity.

  • A minimum of 8 years’ clinical experience (preference for significantly more).

  • An active NHS role or honorary position.

  • A track record of longevity in previous roles.

A Colleague’s Perspective

"Working privately here allows much more time for concentration on clinical work... It is more of what I was originally trained to do, to see patients and try to make them function better. The admin support at Harley Therapy is by some distance the best I have ever experienced in all my time in medicine." - The late Dr. Stephen Humphries, Consultant Psychiatrist (Practised with us 2008 – 2024).

To Apply

If this way of working aligns with how you envisage your private practice, we would be glad to hear from you.
