IAWAI is looking for a Customer Advisor to help deliver on our customer service strategy and uphold our customer promise across the organisation. Reporting to the Waters Customer & Relationships Manager, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our customers receive a consistent, high‑quality experience that reflects IAWAI’s values and commitment to service excellence.
Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you’ll contribute to the development and delivery of customer‑focused initiatives, helping to strengthen relationships and improve the way we engage with the communities we serve. Your work will support the team to respond effectively to customer needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure our services remain accessible, responsive, and people‑centred.

Qualifications

- NCEA Level 2 or equivalent.
- Three years’ experience in customer service or call centre role.
- Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
- Attention to detail.
- Commitment to produce high-quality work.
- Ability to be flexible in prioritising and resolving issues.
- Well-developed customer service skills.
- Ability to remain calm.
- Active listening and the ability to ask questions to confirm your understanding.
- Customer service and/or call centre industry training or qualification.
- Customer service experience in a Local Government or CCO environment.
- Understanding and/or experience of infrastructure maintenance, renewals, and improvements.
