We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Digital Analyst to help deliver our innovative projects within the HR and Regulatory sectors. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!

  • Capable of facilitating workshops and meetings to understand business processes, gather requirements and validate solutions. 
  • Skilled in identifying process improvements, conducting detailed requirements analysis, translating and mapping outcomes and creating functional specifications for new or existing solutions. 
  • Focused on delivering outcomes over outputs, while playing a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business processes and technology solutions.
  • Effective at building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their involvement and buy-in throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Adept at creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for systems and processes. 
  • Comfortable working within an Agile scrum framework. 
  • Understand the importance of platform governance and advocating for best practise. 
  • Enjoy acquiring a thorough understanding of both business and technology within your platform team's domain to support the delivery of appropriate technology solutions. 
  • Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to various audiences. 
  • Able to work autonomously, manage workloads, balance priorities, and meet deadlines. 

What does a typical day look like? 

​By joining our team of platform and digital product experts, you will be part of a team responsible for the delivery of our HR & Regulatory platform services, providing solutions with exceptional outcomes that meet our customers' needs. Being part of the Digital Services unit, we are focused on enabling Hamilton City Council through digital means to achieve our goals, long-term vision, and the needs of our community. 

While each day can vary, activities could include: 

  • Working as part of a cross functional team, providing support, peer review and backup as required 
  • Meeting with stakeholders to discuss processes, requirements, potential solutions. 
  • Designing, building or testing technical solutions in workflows and system configuration. 
  • Querying and analysing data for reporting or data integrity, using PowerBI, SQL queries or in-built reporting systems. 
  • Building or reviewing documentation and other reference material on processes, requirements, designs and solutions. 
  • Building the backlog and participating in sprint events, such as planning, review and retrospectives. 
  • Collaborate with other platform teams in Digital Services to ensure that digital delivery and operations are met and delivered consistently. 

We support flexible working for our team with a hybrid approach. Ideally, you will be in the office at least 3 days per week to build connections and support your team. To ensure that you are fully onboarded and have the support needed to establish yourself in this new role, we would require you to be in the office 4 to 5 days a week in the first couple of months.  

Qualifications

  • Business & Technical Analysis: Strong business analysis capability, including the ability to translate complex needs into clear requirements, map and optimise end‑to‑end processes, and bridge business and technical domains. Comfortable challenging assumptions and using critical thinking to drive clarity, alignment, and outcome‑focused decisions. 
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience configuring workflows, dashboards, and forms within a SaaS environment. Experience working with SAP Success Factors and SaaS based ERP systems e.g. Datascape, Authority.  
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Problem-solving skills are crucial for addressing both technical and business challenges, from identifying issues, analysing them, and develop effective solutions.  
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively manage challenging and diverse customer needs. 
  • HR and Regulatory Business Processes: Understanding the needs of the organisation, processes for HR and Payroll, council’s regulatory processes for planning, animal control etc an advantage.
