Are you a Microsoft 365 expert ready to lead and innovate? Join our team and take ownership of a dynamic M365 environment that supports critical business functions across Council.
As the Microsoft 365 Technical Lead, you’ll be responsible for the design, configuration, and administration of our Microsoft 365 platform. You’ll ensure services like Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Power Platform, and associated security and compliance tools are optimised to meet business needs, governance standards, and security requirements.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role, combining deep operational expertise with architectural oversight. You’ll be the go-to authority for all things M365 within our dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and implementation of Microsoft 365 services.
- Ensure platform configuration aligns with business goals, security policies, and compliance obligations.
- Provide expert guidance and support across Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform, and M365 security features.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance platform performance and user experience.
- Act as the technical lead within the M365 team, driving innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

- Minimum 10 years’ post-qualification experience in an ICT Professional Services role.
- At least 5 years’ specialist leadership experience in Microsoft 365.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or information management majoring in a field such as software engineering or digital technology.
- Microsoft 365 certifications at Associate and Expert levels.
- Proven experience designing, building, and deploying solutions using SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) to address complex business problems.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 architecture, administration, and core collaboration services (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
- Strong capability in developing PowerShell scripts, Graph API integrations, and automation tools.
- Apply a strong analytical mindset to proactively identify potential issues and implement preventative measures.
- Troubleshoot complex technical problems, delivering timely and effective solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Excellent technical documentation, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service and mentor colleagues.
- Skilled in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
Desirable:
- Experience working in local government or public sector environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security and compliance features, including Microsoft Purview.
- Experience developing custom solutions using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), JavaScript, C#, HTML/CSS.
- Knowledge of information management and protection practices.
- Experience building custom integrations with third-party tools and systems.
