This role sits within the Destination Group which includes the Waikato Museum, Te Kaaroro Nature Precinct, Hamilton Gardens, H3 Venues (GLOBOX Arena and Events Centre, Claudelands, FMG Stadium Waikato and Seddon Park).

Become a Hamilton Gardens Tour Guide and turn every visit into an unforgettable experience!
In this role, you’ll lead our 75-minute Highlights Tour, showcasing 4–5 of the most popular gardens and sharing the fascinating stories behind them. You’ll bring the magic of Hamilton Gardens to life, educating, entertaining, and wowing visitors from near and far.
As a Tour Guide, you’ll:
- Engage visitors with the unique concept of the gardens
- Create experiences that are informative, fun, and memorable
- Help elevate Hamilton Gardens as a must-see destination and promote the wider region

We have 1x Tour Guide working from 10am - 4pm (6 hours) every Saturday + multiple casual roles available.
Qualifications
Oo puumanawa me oo wheako | Your skills and experience
- Positive energy, enthusiasm, and confidence guiding groups
- Excellent communication skills in English (and Te Reo pronunciation)
- Strong public speaking skills and ability to adapt in unexpected situations
- Willingness to learn and share fascinating details about Hamilton Gardens
- Physically able to walk for up to two hours
- Reliable, punctual, and well-presented
- Comfortable handling tricky situations with professionalism
- Tourism, entertainment, or customer service experience is a bonus
- Fluency in another language? Even better!
- Respect for tikanga and cultural protocols
- Available to work weekends and public holidays
