Job Description
Halton Healthcare is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Human Resources student to join our team for the summer. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a healthcare setting, supporting the Human Resources team, and contributing to the overall patient and staff experience.
- Respond to general inquiries from managers, staff and union executive members
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling meetings as required
- Attend meetings and support in drafting minutes
- Learn and familiarize yourself with the collective agreement obligations and research relevant legal legislation
- Support data entry, report preparation, and document organization
- Assist in drafting letters
- Conduct research of policies and procedures
- Assist with the development and creation of presentations and/or workshops for management
- Create and update templates for employee correspondence letters
- Assist with drafting of job posting language
- Assist with resume screening, candidate telephone screens, coordination of reference checks and other duties as assigned to assist HR Advisors in the full cycle recruitment process
- Assist with ad-hoc reporting needs
- Other duties as assigned
Opportunity to engage in other areas of the Human Resources portfolio on an ad-hoc basis throughout this placement depending on interest(s) of successful student.
Qualifications
- To be eligible for this role you must be a current student enrolled in a Human Resources Management or Business program in a post-secondary institution and returning in September to full-time studies or required to complete a co-op/internship to fulfill a program requirement
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team \
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is an asset
- Must be reliable, punctual, and adaptable to different tasks
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Additional Information
Status: Temporary Full-time (Summer Term - May to August)
Site: Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, with travel to other sites as needed (Milton & Georgetown)
Hours: Monday to Friday - 7.5 hour day shifts; 0800 - 1600, 0900 - 1700 (Hours are subject to changed based on operational requirements)
Salary: $21.810 - $27.27 per hour
