Job Description

  • To provide care to patients and their families who visit the eye clinic. Specifically, to perform Humphrey Visual Field Testing, Pachymetry, Lensometry, and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
  • Perform work-ups including completion of health history, V/A and IOP checks, pupil assessment, color test and instilling drops
  • Perform A Scan, B Scan, Fundus Photos, IVFA, Specular Microscope and Goldmann Visual Field
  • Ordering and stocking of supplies (including pharmacy supplies)
  • Care and cleaning of equipment including calibration
  • Set-up of rooms for procedures such as intravitreal injection, laser treatment, Chalazion removal trays…etc.

Qualifications

  • J.C.A.H.P.O. Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) required
  • Experience with OCT required 
  • Experience with EMR
  • Excellent knowledge of Humphrey Visual Field Testing, including software 
  • Knowledge of the use of manual Lensometer 
  • Excellent skills to function independently and within the interdisciplinary team 
  • Strong knowledge and skills of providing care to a full range of patients 
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal 
  • Satisfactory attendance, clean employment record

Additional Information

Hours of work:  Monday - Friday Days; 0700-1500, 0800-1600, 0900-1700 (subject to change based on operational requirements)

Salary range:  $29.419 - $33.862 per hour
