Job Description

To assess, plan, and implement care for critical patients in a dynamic, fast-paced Emergency Department as well as a Level 2 Intensive Care Unit. This is an unique role and provides exposure to two differing departments that are both equip to care for critically ill patients.

Qualifications

  • Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Current BCLS required at time of hire
  • Current ACLS required at time of hire and ongoing
  • Recent Critical Care experience required
  • Critical Care Certificate preferred
  • Telemetry experience
  • Completion of Coronary Care 1 and 2 or equivalent required
  • Excellent Patient Assessment skills essential
  • Ability to make autonomous decisions
  • Familiarity with on line documentation considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to function as an interactive member of the multidisciplinary team
  • Strong functional assessment, problem-solving, leadership, and teaching skills required
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of this position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record
  • A commitment to continual learning and a willingness to grow professionally

Salary:  $39.07 to $56.00 per hour
