Job Description

As a member of the MDRD program, the MDR Trainer role supports the Hospital’s strategic plan and corporate goals and objectives throughout the organization. Reporting to the Manager, MDRD the Trainer role functions as a practitioner, consultant, trainer and facilitator for all team members.

The Trainer will work collaboratively with management to enhance daily operations through effective assignment, orientation and teaching. In addition, the incumbent will provide: coaching and mentoring, teaching and leadership to all existing staff, focusing on creating a team oriented environment.

The successful candidate will assist in improving the overall education and educational materials used within the various departments. This role also assists in the creation and update of departmental policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility. The successful applicant assists the Management team by providing input for yearly Performance Evaluations.

The MDR Trainer is an experienced technician who provides leadership in planning, coordination and evaluation of education and training activities for MDR staff.

Qualifications

  • Designs, develops and oversees orientation process for new staff
  • Designs, develops and oversees training and education to support MDR procedures, equipment and device inventory including:
  1. New procedures and changes to existing procedures
  2. Complex devices i.e. flexible endoscopes, disassembly of multi-component devices
  3. New equipment and devices
  4. Remedial training for incorrect practice, incidents and accidents
  • Designs, develops and oversees staff competency training and assessment.
  • Attends shift reports to keep current with department updates and ongoing communications.

Additional Information

Hours: Monday to Sunday - Various rotating; Days & Nights  (hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

Salary: $28.562 - $32.876 per hour
