Job Description

When the country sleeps, you keep things moving! As a Night Shift Transport Supervisor at Hall’s, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our refrigerated freight runs smoothly and on time. From coordinating with day and night teams to monitoring departures and solving challenges on the fly, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping operations on track. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Review manifests with day shift dispatchers to confirm instructions.
  • Handover with day and night shift supervisors to address any issues or requirements.
  • Monitor departures for timeliness and compliance (weight, maintenance, safety).
  • Record unit weights and oversee outbound Line Haul/DC loading.
  • Track and communicate Line Haul and NS unit movements, including ferry updates.
  • Notify depots, management, and Customer Services of any delays or damages.
  • Log incidents in our H&S System and report defects to the Operations Manager.
  • Submit Line Haul stock takes and ensure accurate manifests/load plans.
  • Conduct yard checks and approve drivers’ timesheets.
  • Ensure temperature monitoring is completed and report any failures.
  • Support overnight drivers and address maintenance concerns.
  • Complete missed sailing reports and participate in team meetings.
  • Promote safety, uphold company values, and deliver top-tier service.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • Qualifications: NCEA Level 3 and/or a relevant tertiary certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years in a similar role within warehousing, distribution, or transport.
  • Licensing: A Class 5 license is a bonus but not essential.
  • Tech Skills: Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: 96% accuracy and speed, plus solid experience with legacy systems.
