Job Description

Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our Cost Management team as a Cost Management Specialist in Clarion, IA. This position leads cost management responsibilities with the development and implementation of current production goals on product cost, ensuring delivery and quality are not compromised. Supports strategic capacity planning activities as the Supply Management lead, working with other functional areas. Be the SME for contract management. Be responsible for tooling and bailment recording. This position will report to the Cost Management Manager. 

Essential Functions:

  • Leads and/or supports the negotiation of supplier price changes and supply agreements resulting in cost models, an implementation strategy, and a documented agreement, ensuring the Company meets its overall goals for cost, quality, continuity of supply, etc.
  • Identifies and leads current production cost reduction projects, focusing on Shareholder Value Added; develops and implements communication plans to key stakeholders, internally and externally.
  • Maintains and reports to Supply Management Manager and Controller on cost forecast quarterly.
  • Resolve invoicing discrepancies directly with the supply base.
  • Leads Make vs. Buy studies with the support of other functional departments.
  • Acts as the lead and SME for all contract management needs.
  • Maintains tooling and bailment records to ensure compliance.
  • Develops, implements, and improves Supply Management processes to support current production.

 

Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in specific areas of Supply or Cost Management such as: supplier integration, strategic supply management, supplier development, scheduling, forecasting, logistics, etc. – 3 - 5 years
  • Work experience in a team environment. – 3 – 5 years
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of Order Fulfillment Process.
  • Skills in negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of unit processes and operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel
  • Experience in PowerBI
  • Understanding of MRP systems and ability to create and manage reporting.
  • Cost Management experience
  • Project management experience.

Education:

  • Degree in a Business/Engineering/Supply Management/Finance discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent).
