Job Description

Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our Production team as a Paint Manager in Clarion, IA. This position will lead, mentor, coach and create an environment where their teams can grow as individuals and thrive as a team. Supervises skilled and unskilled employees within the paint department. Department tasks are small in scope and routine in nature.  The number of direct reports can vary in size, from small, less than 10 to medium less than 40.  

 

 

Qualifications

  • Sets the safety climate within the department encouraging near miss reporting, responding appropriately to all near misses, first aid and/or OSHA record able injuries to prevent re occurrence.
  • Establishes employee engagement by clearly communicating relevant information, giving feedback and proper guidance inside and out of Hagie LLC.
  • Insure that all personnel have the appropriate training, work instructions and tools or equipment to be successful
  • Administers employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules appropriate for the department.
  • Monitors employee’s performance related to production and relevant task such as quality checks, TPM, and housekeeping.  Takes corrective actions including manager notes and or performance plans.
  • Listens and responds to all feedback and communication to insure Hagie LLC..and all employees adheres to policies, practices, procedures.
  • Resolves various systems, parts, people or process issues to correct deficiencies, reduce cost, improve processes/performance.
  • Manages and controls cost to stay within the Paint department operating budget targets.
  • Coordinates department continuous improvement plans and activities.
  • Understands labor standards and equipment standards to drive productivity improvements.
  • Interprets department performance metrics and drives improvement accordingly.
  • Supervises the execution of departmental plans to achieve objectives in Safety, Quality, Schedule, Efficiency and Continuous Improvements.
  • Supports Safety and Quality standards by making in the moment decisions which are in alignment with current policies and/standards.
  • Adjust department hours by understanding current workload to meet customer expectations.
  • Understanding of employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules appropriate for the unit. -Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and factory operations. - Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.\
  • Knowledge of products, customers, markets and competitors. - Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.
  •  A strong candidate will have experience with paint systems and their operation.
  •  High School diploma required/ 2-year degree preferred
  • Direct experience in a manufacturing environment (3-5 years) 
  • Experience in a manufacturing leadership role (minimum 1 year)
