Job Description

Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our Engineering team as a Performance Engineer in Clarion, IA. This position would plan, coordinate, and perform product testing and/or analysis work for a complete project of moderate scope or for a significant portion or a sub-system of a major and diverse project.  Operates in a team environment.  May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work to support personnel.  Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors.  

 Essential Functions:

  • Monitoring field test plan progress and making contingency plans as needed.
  •  Develop new testing capabilities and systems to meet validation plans.
  • Specify components, tools, sensors, systems, etc. needed for tests.
  • Analyze test results, providing actionable feedback to engineering group.
  • Develop reliability predictions based on test data for current and new products.
  • Participate in FMEA activities, using as an input into validation plans.
  • Document compliance data according to ISO and ASABE standards.
  • Becomes an expert operator of our equipment.
  • Develop validation plan for systems and components to meet performance and reliability targets.
  • Work with engineering teams to specify testing to correlate analysis (FEA, CFD, etc.)
  • Coordinate information gathering from test units in the field, analyzing and presenting to engineering team.
  •  Participate in design reviews, providing feedback based on experience to improve product designs and reliability.
  • Manage workload to ensure that timelines and priorities are met.
  • Professional Customer Interface – provides excellent customer service while traveling.
     


 

Qualifications

  • Degree in an Engineering/Technology, Science, Agricultural Sciences, discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of the Product Development Process (PDP-LT) and/or Enterprise Customer Acquisitions Process (ECAP). - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Understanding of engineering principles as they relate to the company product - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.
  • Fundamental understanding of machine forms relevant to the specific job assignment and Company division/unit. Knowledge/familiarity with machines manufactured by competitors. -  Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Knowledge in engineering principles, theory and practice as well as product knowledge. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Up to 25% of travel may be required.
  • Engineering experience.  2 - 5 years
  • Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.  2 - 5 years
  • Product engineering experience.  2 - 5 years
  • Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases.  2 - 5 years
  •  Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems.  2 - 5 years
  • Skill in using company information systems and processes. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools. - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.
