Job Description

Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our Manufacturing Engineering team as a Current Product Assembly Manufacturing Engineer in Clarion, IA. This position will be responsible for supporting daily production of Hagie Products; including safe, ergonomic, quality capable, and efficient assembly processes.   

  • Lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to processes, machinery, and quality. Support the Factory First mentality.
  • Actively participate and take a leadership role in the continuous improvement process through innovations in safety & ergonomics, customer and process quality, efficiency and cost.
  • Process audits & operator certification: ensure sequence of events documentation and operator methods sheets reflect the current method of manufacture.
  • Support process flow improvements and develop assembly line designs utilizing Lean manufacturing strategies.
  • Maintain routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations.    
  •  Participate in team studies related to capacity, productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with PDP ME counterparts to ensure a successful program implementation.
     

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of database management tools, the various loan accounting systems, and process management systems. - Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.
  • Background in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, power systems, etc.). - Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.
  • Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools. - Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Understands the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP). - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
  • Experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, methods, reliability, design, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, quality. - Less than 1 year
  • Experience in Project management and business planning. - Small strategic projects or larger tactical projects with medium complexity
  • Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases. - Less than 1 year
  • Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools. - Less than 1 year
