Job Description

Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our Engineering team as a Software Engineer  in Clarion, IA.  

This position will develop, analyze and implement electrical and electronic systems on our Ag Equipment Products.  This includes writing multiple levels of software code. This position will report to the Controls Engineering Supervisor. 

  • Creating functional software for machine control
  • Creating software simulations to test
  • Creating designs for precision system incorporation into machines. 
  • Assist functional leader with communications to the rest of the business
  • Work with external suppliers to help determine best hardware choices for machine design.
  • Ability to problem solve and think quickly 
  • Assist test engineering group with test plans for system to be performed after design is complete

Technical Skills & Knowledge:
Specialized skills, knowledge and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Understanding of circuit and electrical system design.
  • Ability to communicate to a cross-functional group.
  • Understanding of electrical/electronic Systems. - Off-highway Equipment Relevant—12V System/CANBUS

Education:
Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements.

  • Degree in an Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)

Relevant Work Experiences:
Type and amount of experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. May include specific roles and/or an understanding of a particular function, organization, industry or product line.

  • Previous Experience with working with a multi-meter, oscilloscope and other diagnostic equipment -1-3 years
  • Experience using C/C++ or other computer programming languages to do functional coding – 1- 3 years
