Job Description

Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our Material Flow team as a  Material Replenishment Specialist in Clarion, IA. This position plans, designs and implement material replenishment processes relative to current production and new product programs.  Developing play for every part and to support material availability.  Plans materials for pre-production builds and manages end to end material flow design and optimization for the factory. 

 

  • Supports the safety climate within Operations by acting as a resource for helping to identify and implement corrective actions related to near misses, first aid injuries, and OSHA recordables.
  • Establishes employee engagement by clearly communicating relevant information related to part availability and process changes to improve part availability to supporting departments.
  • Completes assigned Production Control tickets in a timely manner and communicates status with impacted employees and/or departments
  • Understands material flow paths, identifies safety, ergonomic and efficiency improvements and helps implement.
  • Develops, executes, owns, and audits material replenishment methodology, strategy, and guidelines, i.e., sequence, kit, controlled delivery by build schedule.
  • Manages and coordinates plan for every part and storage solutions, including raw in-process sizing and total replenishment cost optimization.
  • Collaborates with Supply Management on replenishment parameters, i.e., order frequency and quantity.
  • Support right-sizing activities for containerization and usage of returnable racks. Collaborates with Production Planning on replenishment parameters, order frequency and quantity.
  • Identifies the need for specialized storage or transportation racks to support replenishment strategy.
  • Reviews Material Availability at Point of Use tracking, identifies root cause and implements corrective action.
  • Works in alignment with Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Management to define optimal line side quantity and lead implementation of preferred material replenishment strategies to support continuous improvement in material availability at point of use and first pass yield.
  • Serves as the material flow and production PDP core and launch team member integrating with new product program builds, planning and setup of replenishment strategy and order fulfillment input into total cost.  Liaison between Manufacturing Engineering, Material Flow and Supply Management for layouts, replenishment, and order quantities.
  • Coordinates ECR/ECN implementation dates with appropriate input from Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Management, and Operations
  • Understands material flow paths, identifies safety, ergonomic and efficiency improvements and helps implement.
     

Qualifications

  •  University Degree (4 years or equivalent - in a Business/Management discipline, Engineering/Technology discipline, Supply Management discipline, Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience within a manufacturing business sector.
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus intranet and internet functions. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of the appropriate operating and information systems. – Performs more complex functions understands principles and may teach others.
  • Understanding of Bills of Materials – Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.
  • Knowledge of parts distribution systems and parts terminology. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Understands the Product Delivery Process – Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Understanding of unit processes operations. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Knowledge of material flow and visual management – Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Kanban and other delivery methods. – Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Experience with line and process design, material presentation, and visual management tools.  – Less than 1 year
  • Experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases. – Less than 1 year
  • Manufacturing and/or Operations experience.  – 1-3 years.
  • Work Experience in a team environment. – 1 – 3 years
  • Experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases. – Less than 1 year
  • Experience within Process Kanban calculations – 1-3 years.
  • Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance, and visual management tools. – Less than 1 year
