Job Description

Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our Quality team as a Quality Engineer II in Clarion, IA. This position plans and manages Quality Engineering for current and future products in a small production unit to align and achieve the strategic quality goals and customer needs. Develops and maintains quality reporting and/or audit system(s) within the production unit. Quality processes supervised may include but are not limited to measurement services, gage control processes, non-destructive testing, inspection, and product audits.  Additional focus is on planning, execution and realization of Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement, Quality Control and Quality Inspection.

Essential Functions:

  • Owner and monitor of FPM and PRCT calculations. Works collaboratively with other stakeholders to benchmark and continue to improve accuracy and efficiency of collecting and reporting out data.
  • Creates complex and/or new reports and metrics using innovative approaches.
  • Owner and facilitator of Field Issues meeting where position monitors high-level product problem concerns and seeks commitment from appropriate departments/units so that necessary actions can be taken to focus on improving key driver issues that impact customer experience and key business metrics.
  • Investigates product quality problems, facilitates root cause analysis for quality problems, gathers and analyzes data and implements corrective action to reduce or eliminate non-value waste resulting from non-conformances, scrap or reclaim.  
  • Expert and trainer on current systems (NCCA, Warranty Warehouse, MDAW, etc.)
  • Executes the quality planning for new and current product activities for the unit's programs. Includes reporting customer satisfaction metrics to promote customer driven continuous improvement as well as customer driven feature enhancements / additions on new programs.
  • Continues to provide Warranty information to drive prioritization for QIT, CI, VI, etc. where necessary.
  • Owner and monitor of PDP reliability growth analysis. Works collaboratively with other stakeholders to benchmark and continue to improve accuracy and efficiency of collecting and reporting out data.

Qualifications

Education:   

  • Degree in an Engineering/Technology/ Science / Math Disciplines - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)

 Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • General engineering work experience. - 1 - 3 years
  • Manufacturing and/or operations experience. - 1 - 3 year
  • Working in Excel - Between proficient and expert
  • Working in SAS - Proficient preferred, can train right candidate
  • Working in EG - Proficient preferred, can train right candidate
  • Project management - 1-3 years
  • Industry related experience related to Quality Processes (including Coop/Internships) preferred. 

Relevant Work Experience:

  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification process. - Has a general understanding of the principles and uses the knowledge with assistance.
  •  Knowledge of standard quality tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes Effect Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), Root Cause Analysis, Statistics. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Understands the impact of quality on lean manufacturing. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Knowledge of basic data analysis techniques. (e.g. pareto charts, histograms, pie and bar charts and control plans.) - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.
  • Effective communication skills – verbal, writing, and presentation. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge
