Job Description

Hagie Manufacturing  is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our high performing Engineering team in Clarion, IA for future consideration of an open position.

General duties may include or vary based of future needs:  Plan, coordinate, and perform product design, testing and/or analysis work for a complete project of moderate scope or for a significant portion or a sub-system of a major and diverse project. Operates in a team environment, providing input to design solutions and participating in design reviews. May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work to support personnel. In addition, defines, develops, promotes and supports engineering standards for the commonality of parts, materials and processes to avoid unnecessary part proliferation and improve product quality at the Unit/Division level.  Serves as unit expert in CAD software and key point of contact for management of CAD products from product engineering department.  Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors. This position will report to the Design Engineering Leadership team. 

  • Analyzes assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for complex problems or projects of moderate scope. 
  • Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications. This may include possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel. 
  • Compiles and furnishes necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.     
  • Provides consultation services on engineering standards, processes and related technical issues in order to identify, prevent or solve problems.
  • Develops, reviews, obtains approval and writes decisions for unit engineering standards such as materials, test procedures, manufacturing processes, drafting, etc.
  • Provides technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality and supply management organizations. 
  • Executes high level applications to more complex problems.
  • Develops and/or executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation. 
  • Applies knowledge of company products, policies and practices to provide economies through standardization of parts and products.
     

Qualifications

 

  • Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent) 
  • Degree in a Science discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent) 
  • Degree in an Agricultural Sciences discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
  • Engineering experience. - 1 - 3 years 
  • Technical experience relating to design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems. - 1 - 3 years 
  • Product engineering experience. - 1 - 3 years 
  • Experience with engineering tools, systems and databases. - 1 - 3 years 
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems. - 1 - 3 years
  • Skill in using company information systems and processes. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge. 
  • Skill in using computer aided design and/or engineering tools. - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others. 
  •  Knowledge of the Enterprise Product Development Process (EPDP) and/or Customer Acquisitions 
  • Process (CAP). - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge. 
  •  Understanding of engineering principles as they relate to the company product - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others. 
  • Fundamental understanding of machine forms relevant to the specific job assignment and Company division/unit. Knowledge/familiarity with machines manufactured by competitors. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge. 
  • Knowledge in engineering principles, theory and practice as well as product knowledge. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  •  Skill in using company information systems and processes. - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for dimension and tolerancing, weld symbols, etc. - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.
