The Department of Clinical Neurosciences provides care to patients at all ages, children and adults with neurosurgical, neurological, ophthalmological and ENT pathologies.

The care is adapted to the needs and difficulties of the patient, from the most acute sectors (intermediate care units) to the rehabilitation sectors (neuro-rehabilitation).

The objective of the department is to bring the patient to a recovery of his / her autonomy through teaching, support and outpatient monitoring. He ensures the operation of patients as their support, in order to promote an early return home. Outpatient care is also favoured and the operating activity optimized to facilitate access to care within a reasonable timeframe.

The Division of Neurology provides diagnostic and therapeutic support for patients suffering from a neurological condition, often in collaboration with other services such as neuroradiology, neurosurgery, neuro-rehabilitation and internal medicine speciality services. It is composed of several specialized units, one of them being movement disorders.

Job Description

As head of the Movement Disorders Unit, you manage the organization and operation of the unit with associated collaborators, with your hierarchy and other professions, in particular the nurse responsible for neurology.

You guarantee the quality of care for patients with diseases of the neurological sphere by respecting the institution’s guidelines and with a human, rational and efficient approach.

You are invested in teaching and research and are responsible for training.

Qualifications

You hold an FMH neurology title or equivalent specialist board accreditation in neurology.

You have at least two years' experience as clinic doctor in a type A hospital in Switzerland (or equivalent).

Experience in advanced treatment options for Parkinson's disease (deep brain stimulation, HIFUS and drug pumps) and / or botulinum toxin therapy of movement disorders is desirable.

You have experience in teaching and training doctors in the field of movement disorders.

You have research experience in the field of movement disorders. The track record of publications and research funds obtained in this domain will also be considered.

A title of Privatdocent or equivalent is desirable and depending on the profile, an academic appointment at the professor level may be considered.

C1 level in French is required.
