Job Description

Our client Mimico are seeking a Workshop Service Manager to join their Takanini team.  This position is pivotal to the success of the business and is responsible for the efficient growth and development of the Construction Equipment workshop while overseeing the new machine builds and paint shop teams.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the service team which consists of workshop-based and field service technicians
  • Business development – being proactive in the promotion of the service department’s capabilities
  • Managing health and safety across the workshops
  • Finalising invoices and management of WIP in a timely manner
  • Managing and developing Service Technicians to ensure there is an uncompromised focus on delivering high levels of service and expertise.
  • Completing administrative tasks to ensure the service department is operated in accordance with company procedures and policies.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems raised by customers; as well as assuring clients of maximum efficiency and productivity in repair and maintenance services offered.

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Experience working in a commercial workshop environment including managing a team
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulics and electrical systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong internal & external relationships
  • An awareness of the health & safety legislation and compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience working with parts, procedures and operations of heavy equipment
  • Proficient computer skills
