Labor Standards Expert
- Full-time
Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a Labour Standards Expert, you own and develop the global store labour standards model, defining how work is measured and how long operational tasks should take across our retail environments.
Rather than focusing on workforce scheduling or staffing execution, you will create and maintain the methodologies, standards and workload assumptions that form the foundation of labour planning, productivity and workforce decisions across markets.
You will ensure labour standards reflect real store operations, customer journeys and operational activities across all store formats, while remaining robust as operating models evolve.
You will:
- Own and maintain the end-to-end store labour standards model, ensuring every operational activity has a clear, validated and documented time value
- Define and continuously improve methodologies, calculation logic and governance principles behind labour standards
- Lead time studies, work measurement activities and productivity assessments across front of house, back of house and omnichannel operations
- Analyse workflows, task execution patterns, workload drivers and operational activities to define accurate labour standards
- Ensure labour standards are updated to reflect new processes, operating model changes and omnichannel flows
- Establish and maintain a structured cadence for reviewing and updating task times, including annual refreshes and defined change triggers
- Build and maintain documentation, methodologies and standard operating principles related to labour standards
- Act as a subject matter expert on work measurement, labour standards and productivity methodology, supporting both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Partner closely with Labour Demand and Workforce Management experts to ensure labour standards translate effectively into workforce planning logic
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will work closely with Operations Development, Retail Operations, Labour Demand, Workforce Management, Tech and Product teams, as well as global teams and Sales Markets.
In this role, you help connect operational reality with planning logic by ensuring work measurement, task standards and productivity assumptions are accurate, trusted and consistently applied across the organisation.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a structured and analytical expert with a deep curiosity for how work is performed, measured and improved. You enjoy understanding operational activities at a detailed level and translating observations, data and workflow analysis into practical labour standards that improve consistency, fairness and productivity.
We are looking for people with:
- Experience in work measurement, labour standards, industrial engineering, methods engineering, operational productivity or labour modelling
- Experience conducting time studies, task analysis, productivity assessments or workload measurement in operational environments
- Strong understanding of operational workflows, process analysis and productivity drivers
- Experience translating operational activities, task execution and workload assumptions into measurable standards and frameworks
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational, productivity and time-study data
- Experience documenting methodologies, standards, rules and process frameworks with a high degree of accuracy
- Experience working within retail, logistics, manufacturing, warehousing or other high-volume operational environments is highly valued
- Confidence working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders through data, methodology and expertise
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
