Senior Test Engineer
- Full-time
Job Description
WHAT YOU’LL DO
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer to strengthen our testing capabilities across API, regression, and end-to-end flow validation in an e-commerce environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring our promotions, vouchers, and checkout experiences work seamlessly across global systems.
This role combines hands-on testing (manual and automation) with strategic quality initiatives - integrating alerting, monitoring, and performance testing into our QA processes. You’ll collaborate closely with development, operations, and Hybris engineering teams to ensure every release is stable, monitored, and customer ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead API and flow-based testing (manual and automated) to validate promotion, voucher, and checkout functionality.
- Develop and maintain automated regression suites using Robot Framework (Python), and support additional automation with Playwright or Selenium.
- Conduct black-box API testing and collaborate on integrating with performance and load testing tools such as K6 and LoadRunner.
- Work with operations teams to define alerting and monitoring mechanisms that detect failures early and provide actionable insights.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to ensure continuous quality validation.
- Partner with Hybris test engineers to ensure end-to-end integration and consistency across systems.
- Manage test cases, results, and defects using Jira, QMetry, or similar tools.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies, retrospectives, and sprint planning, ensuring testing remains an integral part of delivery.
- Support the team in improving testing frameworks, processes, and documentation for long-term scalability.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
At H&M, technology is at the heart of transforming how we connect with our customers. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams across the globe to deliver reliable and scalable e-commerce solutions.
Our mission is to provide customers with flawless experiences - from promotions and vouchers to checkout and rewards, and robust testing is key to that success. You’ll be part of a team that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and building a resilient platform that supports millions of users worldwide.
WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer who brings both technical depth and a quality-first mindset. Someone who can balance automation with thoughtful manual testing and help strengthen our overall QA strategy.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on API testing (REST and event-based services) and end-to-end validation.
- Proven experience testing e-commerce platforms, ideally with exposure to Hybris.
- Hands-on expertise with Robot Framework (Python) and experience with Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent UI test frameworks.
- Strong background in regression testing - both manual and automated, ensuring full flow coverage.
- Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (e.g., K6, LoadRunner) and integration with test pipelines.
- Experience defining and maintaining monitoring and alerting for test and production environments.
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Proficiency in Jira, QMetry, or similar test management tools.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Additional Skills
- Experience helping teams transition from manual to automation-first QA practices.
- Understanding of cloud-based test environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Exposure to AI-assisted testing or self-healing frameworks is a plus.
- Familiarity with containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to improve processes and product reliability.
And people who are
- Passionate about quality, reliability, and customer experience.
- Collaborative team players who thrive in cross-functional, global environments.
- Proactive problem-solvers who combine technical skill with practical judgment.
- Excited to contribute to H&M’s mission of delivering great customer experiences through technology and innovation.
