Job Description

As an Area HR Manager, you drive HR initiatives, foster a positive work environment, and support business growth. You will play a key role in implementing HR strategies, ensuring employee engagement, and optimizing HR processes across the area.  In this role, you work together with Area and Store Teams to secure quality throughout the employee life cycle.​

What you will do:

  • Responsible for implementing the brand HR strategy to ensure employee engagement and the quality of the employee life cycle​
  • Contribute to a people-first work environment by driving HR initiatives and events aligned with annual HR goals. 
  • Implement the HR strategy to enhance employer engagement and improve the employee life cycle within your area. 
  • Drive and monitor HR-related KPIs to support business growth and ensure workforce efficiency. 
  • Collaborate with the Area Team to ensure smooth workflows and support short- and long-term business goals. 
  • Collaborate with the Regional HR Team to provide feedback on the people agenda to influence materials and processes needed to meet the changing needs​.
  • Train & coach Store Managers to take actions based on HR metrics to ensure business needs are met​​.
  • Work with Store Managers to ensure stores operate within the guidelines of global health & safety policy​.
  • Manage conflict resolution, mediation, and disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee performance management, ensuring fair and constructive reviews, goal-setting, and development plans.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Partner to secure recruitment activities and succession planning​.
  • Provide guidance on policies, culture, and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledgeable on local legislation and culture, liaise with H&M group HR teams and legal departments to ensure all COS stores are following local policies.

What you need to succeed

  • Proven experience in HR management, preferably in retail or a fast-paced environment. 
  • Degree holder in Human Resources Management or related discipline
  • (preferable)
  • Excellent English & Mandarin language skills, both verbal & written
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret HR metrics and drive improvements.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and committed to fostering a positive workplace culture. 

Additional Information

This is a full time permanent contract based at our Area Office in Beijing.
