Job Description
As a buyer at & Other Stories Shoe department you are responsible of the assortment strategy, defining the collection structure and leading the development process to achieve the goals set in terms of design, selling and profitability.
Our assortment includes private label as well as external brands.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Together with Head of Atelier and Business Controller set goals and strategies that supports the planned result for your department.
- In close collaboration with Head of Atelier and Design manager, select brands and set, plan and buy our external assortment.
- Buy, plan and develop an assortment that is balanced to meet the business and customer demands in terms of fashion, price, quality, sustainability and sales targets.
- Lead the product development process from idea to final delivery, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Make purchasing decision at the right time, in right quantity to secure a strong selling and profit results in all sales channels.
- Together with production and Head of Atelier set a detailed timeline with deadlines for the development and buying process.
- Together with business support negotiate terms, conditions, and deliveries for external brands.
- Monitor selling and taking the right actions related to reordering and fashion tendencies.
- Secure that the product team has a clear customer focus in all aspects.
- Taking an active part in leading and empowering the product team.
- Collaborate with relevant roles, within and outside the Atelier, to ensure an efficient information and workflow process and build great partnership.
- Develop and lead Jr Buyer roles.
Qualifications
We believe you have a good knowledge of collection building and understanding of the working procedure from customer behaviour to design, production and buying.
You encourage and contribute to the shared responsibility of creating and protecting an inclusive and welcoming workplace where everyone is allowed to self-identify.
To be successful in the role we also see that you have:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of working as a Buyer and experience working with external brands.
- Has experience of working with Shoe category and accessible premium products (leather).
- Have passion for the & Other Stories customer.
- Understands the importance of commercial thinking and has a strong salesmanship.
- Has a strong fashion intelligence and a strategic mindset.
- Is result oriented and looks at the customers need in every product.
- Has a positive problem-solving attitude and is eager to find new ways.
- Has excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Is a strong informal leader.
- Is a team player and with straight forward communication ability adding to an open atmosphere that allows growth.
Additional Information
