Senior Business Controller - Buying Office

Job Description

As a Senior Business Controller in the COS Buying Office you will generate sustainable sales growth and profitability for your departments both short-and long term through commercial analysis, action and leadership. In this role you drive the change agenda inside and outside your division and contribute towards the overall brand goals and vision.

What you will do: 

  • In collaboration with the function head you will be responsible for setting the buying controlling vision, goals, strategy and timeline.
  • You will seek opportunities and identify risks by performing in-depth sales analysis.
  • You will lead, develop and grow junior members of the team.
  • Communicate and advise your team with concise financial insights for buying follow up.
  • You will secure and develop solid buying methods and decision-making models around planning, buying and selling.
  • Develop processes for business development across the whole buying office.
  • You will challenge, develop and actively support planners, buyers and buying assistants in methods, salesmanship and analytical tools.
  • Develop and maintain robust, reliable and value-added reporting and goal setting processes to ensure effective growth.

In addition to our values for this role we are also looking for:  

  • Significant experience working in a controlling, merchandising, planning or similar role. Fashion retail industry preferred. 
  • Highly analytical and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office with outstanding Excel skills. 
  • Strong leader with proven team building experience  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A genuine interest in the fashion industry and working in a dynamic, creative environment 
  • Result focused with a strong business sense 
  • Experience from project management or business development would be beneficial 
  • Qualification within business, finance or economics would be beneficial

This is a full time permanent contract based at our Head Office in London.
