Job Description

As an Area Manager, you will have the opportunity to direct the sales performance, customer service and the overall profitability of 11 stores located in the United States & 1 in Mexico. In this role, you will lead a team of store managers as well as a visual merchandiser to ensure the area runs effectively. Reporting the Regional Manager for North America you will be involved in strategic planning as well as all operational and commercial activities throughout the year.

  • Directly responsible for ensuring the area consistently achieves or exceeds sales, KPIs and profitability goals through effective use of short- and long-term planning and expense control​
  • Direct Line manager for 12 store managers and an area visual merchandiser
  • Provide inspirational leadership and contribute towards providing a great company culture for all colleagues within the area
  • Recruit, retain, coach, and develop a well-functioning and high calibre team
  • Create action plans to increase profit and control variable expenses by evaluating the P&L monthly
  • Collaboratively develop and support the execution of customized business plans to drive overall sales and achieve financial and operational goals for stores ​
  • Ensure that the country maintains and follows standard operational procedures, security policies and human resource guidelines
  • Develop strategies to maximize sales potential by accurately forecasting sales, ensuring that the staffing plans are in alignment with the business trends, and adjusting payroll accordingly
  • Conduct store visits to evaluate and identify business opportunities to improve sales growth, profitability, and customer service
  • Participate in weekly and monthly business / leadership meetings in the home office as required

For area manager candidates we are also looking for someone who has

  • Excellent knowledge of store operational routines
  • Experience of leading a team from distance
  • A proven track record of setting ambitious business goals and delivering on Key Performance Indicators, both business and personnel related, including elevating customer service.
  • Skilled in giving constructive feedback and encouraging your team to try new things
  • Up to date with fashion/retail trends and is knowledgeable about products, services etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present complex information in a simple way and adapt communication to suit the audience.
  • Who can prioritise efficiently make careful, resourceful choices and work towards deadlines
  • Is respectful and non-judgemental
  • Can express own opinions even when they differ from the majority, however, accepts and contributes to agreed outcomes
  • Seek feedback and learning opportunities to grow and develop both yourself and the business

Other requirements

  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds​
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items (mannequins, clothing, totes, torsos, etc.) for a short distance​
  • Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool​
  • Ability to work flexible hours and extended hours at times​
  • Around 30 % travel required as necessary
  • Spanish language skills are an advantage but not required

Salary Range: $113,000 - $127,000
