Job Description

This is a general ad for all current and upcoming Jr Product Developer and Product Developer positions within the different H&M group brands. Regardless of which brand or assortment you work in, you will be part of a tight team including Product Developers, Designers, Pattern Makers, Planners, Controllers and Section Head. Together as a team, you are responsible for the entire work process of developing new and exciting products that enable our customers to look and feel great. Your work will focus on developing the most current and commercial products at the best possible price in a sustainable way.

As a Junior Product Developer:

You will support the Product Developer in your team throughout the product development process in accordance with the department strategy, visual goals and timeline. Your daily tasks will include everything from assortment planning, sample handling with continuous fittings and daily contact with the production offices to decide on materials, fabrics and trims. You will constantly overview, evaluate, follow up and make suggestions for improvement, all in close collaboration with your team. It is a great opportunity to learn from and be influenced by experienced colleagues with different backgrounds to develop your own skills and competences!

As a Product Developer: 

You will set and drive assortment and development strategy for your department. This includes both short- and long-term strategies in line with the overall assortment goals. With a strong fashion intelligence, salesmanship, and sense of commerciality, you can identify seasonal keys and act on relevant tendencies. We believe that you are a natural project manager with excellent communication skills. You make things happen around you and make sure to stay organized even when the work pace is high. 

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • Experience from/currently working as Jr Product Developer, Product Developer, Assistant Buyer or Junior Buyer in Fashion retail 
  • Degree within textile, product development and/or buying 
  • Have a good sense of fashion, trends, and passion for products 
  • Good knowledge and experience of materials and trims
  • Always see possibilities, improvements, and simple solutions
  • Driven, structured and take initiatives 
  • Result-oriented and a business growth mindset 
  • Strong salesmanship and commercial thinking 
  • Team player with a flexible attitude 
  • Great communication skills
