Job Description

Job Responsibility including but not limited to:

  • Act as the key leadership function for merchandising to maximize selling for the North American market (US & Canada)
    • Provide analysis on stock, income, buying levels and selling
    • Create, drive and follow up on weekly commercial focuses
    • Actively look for strategic market opportunities through analysis and quantification Create targets and track performance via KPI’s
    • Analyze and optimize customer offering in the region through deep diving in price competitiveness, stock income timing, store assortment, store distribution, and buy quantities
    • Drive ad hoc analysis that strengthens product availability and identifies selling potential
    • Spearhead process efficiencies.  Build and maintain analytical tools and reporting that support the actions of the merchandising team
    • Present seasonal hindsights and quarterly recaps
    • Support initiatives, influence budgets, and ensure optimize assortments for store expansion

 

  • Optimize stock by determining and driving allocation strategies, with an active focus on stock freshness and planned markdown strategies
    • Set and implement the allocation strategy for the region, aiming to have the right assortment and stock level in every location in the region
    • Analyze performance and set weekly action plans. 
    • Follow up-and monitor the target stock levels of both channels
    • Key lead in creating robust seasonal markdown plans and promotion strategies.  Track and report on performance.  Partner with Finance/Controlling to ensure financial objectives will be met
    • Set initial allocation and replenishment strategies.  Drive execution through collaboration with Merchants and Area Controllers
    • Establish store quantity parameters based on sales trends
    • Optimize omni-channel stock levels by initiating stock between channels
    • Analyze and give recommendations on delivery frequency
    • Propose actions to keep balanced stock and stock freshness
    • Work with Area Controllers to set a common strategy for allocation and in-store operations

 

  • Optimize the supply chain from warehouse to customer in both channels through constant communication and collaborating with logistics
    • Investigate issues and consistently follow-up to drive results
    • Set best practices to find new, better ways of working
    • Communicate and follow-up with Logistics, Merchants and Area Teams to synchronize all functions

 

  • Collaborate with the Buying Office to plan seasonal strategies and ensure optimized buy strategy

    • Collaborate with the buying team to set a seasonal ST% strategy for North America, with action plans to achieve full-price goals
    • Help establish new process in regional market planning. Analyze and determine departmental plans and market % allocations
    • Establish minimize quantities to protect and analyze optimal size curves

 

Qualifications

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with finance, mathematics or economics major
  • 4+ years’ experience in retail management, preferably with a multi-faceted background in merchandising, planning, allocation and/or finance/controlling
  • Experience working in omni channel vertical retail environment highly desired
