Job Description

As a Product Designer at Monki you are responsible for the collections and to secure current fashion and forwarding thinking ideas. You will lead the visionary fashion work for the collection towards set targets and strategies. Constantly follow & act on upcoming trends and identify new opportunities. You will work closely with other designers and a Buyer.

Your main responsibilities include: 

 

  • Designing jackets, blazers & knitwear & trousers
  • Having an hands-on approach from Initial concept ideas, design development, liaising with factories, follow up throughout design process to final garments & collection
  • Visionary work for the department towards set targets and strategies
  • The department’s customer focus and for the design of the products
  • Securing right current fashion, balance in the assortment and coordination of the department
  • Constantly follow and act on new trends and seek new opportunities

Professional experience:

  • Knowledge with woven and knitwear & jersey materials
  • Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite programs
  • 3D CLO work experience is meriting
  • Key knowledge and experience of whole design process
  • Liaising with factories and suppliers globally

Personal skills

  • A visionary & commercial  mindset staying updated on current and future trends
  • Strong communication skills and flexible approach
  • A team player who brings diverse and global perspectives
  • Likes a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment with parallel tasks in an organized, structured manner
  • Fluent in English (Swedish is not necessary)

To be successful in this role we also see that you: 

  • Have a minimum of 3- 5 years certified industry design experience
  • BA qualification in Fashion Design or equivalent
  • Combine a love of fashion and an understanding of retail and trends with a professional attitude and strong commercial focus
  • Able to inspire others and communicate your vision and product ideas
  • Have a great eye for details and extensive fabric/yarn knowledge
  • Are comfortable working with clear deadlines with a flexible mindset
