Job Description

The H&M Group operates more than 5000 stores in 70 countries with 9 different group brands. We continue to expand worldwide as one of the largest fashion companies in the world. With that said it is crucial for us that our customers and our colleague’s privacy and integrity is protected. The work in our Data Privacy Office is vital to support a fast-moving business environment. We are now looking for our next Compliance Specialist to join our global team at the Data Privacy Office.

As a Compliance Specialist you are an integral part of the Data Privacy Office, a team of 13 people responsible for the global data privacy framework and our Data Privacy compliance reporting applied in the H&M group. The Data Privacy Office belongs to H&M Group Legal.

The job of a Compliance Specialist comes with lots of responsibility, complexity, variety – and lots of fun. You work with a high degree of autonomy being able to plan and manage your own activities fully. Your tasks will cover a broad spectrum of all privacy related questions, with a global perspective in a large and exciting organization. H&M has a unique culture and you will be working with ambitious and talented colleagues while driving high level projects with stakeholders from the whole H&M Group including all our sales countries.

You will provide support to the entities and teams within the H&M Group in the data privacy framework which includes:

  • Ensure privacy by design for new initiative, projects, collaborations and processes.
  • Record processes and advice on how to apply privacy principles.
  • Support in privacy risk and impact assessment.
  • Interact with and support our Data Privacy Coordinators in our sales markets, in our Head Office functions as well as our Business Tech organization
  • Have contact with vendors and partners in data transfer matters, including negotiating data processing agreements and SCCs.
  • Draft information to Privacy Notices to ensure transparency towards the data subjects.
  • Train teams and spread awareness in the privacy area.

Qualifications

In addition to matching the personal profile we also seek the following qualifications:

  • You have a few years of experience from working with data privacy.
  • You have working experience from legal and/or compliance and a law degree.
  • You have experience from working with IT infrastructure and information security.
  • You have experience from severity assessments within risk management (business or IT).
  • Experience from government communication is a merit (preferably regarding privacy, but could be related to IT, HR, Finance or other types of regulatory government communication).
  • You are fluent in English both orally and in writing.

Additional Information

This is a one year temporary position based in Stockholm and you will report to our Data Protection Officer.
