Technical Engineer - Store Enablement

Job Description

Store Enablement Area is an entirely new area within the Customer Domain. It will play a key role in enabling the future store experience. The area is set on a mission to provide a unified and streamlined in-store experience worldwide. We want to provide the best customer experience, coordination on rollouts and a simplified interface between Business Tech and our stores. The area will create a stable platform to build store specific applications running on modernized devices. All based on holistic store staff and customer vision and journey. 

The area will start out with four existing teams focusing on retail hardware such as touchpoints in store, mobile device, visitor counters, music in store and digital screens and signs. Added teams will focus on store experimentation, store release management and store development experience. 

 What you will do

In the role as Technical Engineer, you will work within an area focusing on retail, the physical store and its hardware, devices, and applications. Your main work tasks will include:  

  • Validate new hardware and verify if it aligns with HW and SW requirements 
  • Configure and test hardware and software for optimal performance 
  • Do system commissioning and verify installations performed by third party suppliers 
  • Facilitate system monitoring and system health control 
  • Participate in issue management on complex and critical issues 
  • Work with Problem management 
  • Participate in our Azure cloud transformation

Furthermore, we believe you have: 

  • General hardware knowledge & experience configuring windows hardware 
  • General understanding of network architecture (switches/firewalls/VPN) 
  • Good understanding of digital media technology and standards (image/video codecs) 
  • Experience on managing OS images  
  • Experience of MDM tools and remote system monitoring  
  • Experience working with data carrier technology (Bar codes, QR codes, RFID and NFC) 
  • Knowledge of IoT hardware and solutions  
  • Experience in Azure VMs, PowerShell and Scripting 

It is also good if you have:

  • Experience working with Digital Signage (Scala etc) 
  • Experience in video production 
  • Experience working with Linux 
  • Python development experience appreciated 
  • It is a plus if you have experience in Azure DevOps
