This position is part of the Core Engineering Domain - driving the engineering necessary to transform our core technology services (infrastructure, network, site technology, integration) towards a modular, service-oriented landscape. 

Your responsibilities
As a Global head- Operation Manager within Network, you are passionate about providing a fast, transparent, and secure network to colleagues around the world. You will lead the maintenance, operations, and management of the Network Tech Service Area (TSA), thereby maintaining a core high-quality technology service to the H&M Group business. This includes scaling down and phasing out legacy technology over time, as well as re-engineering/transforming as necessary. You will manage teams, lead, coach and develop members of the Network team, while promoting best practices in technical architecture and agile methodology. Ensuring stable operations and high-quality service as necessary to drive business value will be among your key objectives.

Your responsibilities, will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Accountable for maintaining and ensuring availability of a dynamic, resilient and smart network with value for money
  • Responsible to ensure users can consume applications regardless of location while providing a premium end-user experience
  • Responsible for Network incident management
  • Accountable and responsible to ensure service delivery or support to Product Teams which need Network support to drive business value for H&M Group
  • Monitor vendors and market regularly for new software, hardware and best practices in Network Operations
  • Accountable to ensure that the area strategy and roadmap is aligned with Business Tech technology strategy and roadmap
  • Responsible to provide input to QBR on critical Network technology priorities that will enable continued product development and scaling
  • Accountable along with BT commercial to ensure healthy partner relationships
  • Ensure assigned teams understand the overall direction, vision, delivery process and responsibilities for any given initiative
  • Drive consistency in practice, process, toolset and architecture within Network
  • Lead, coach and develop members of the area, promoting best practice in technical architecture and continually benchmarking against industry standards

You work with a focus on value creation, growth and serving customers with ownership and accountability, delivering exceptional results for the customer and business.

Qualifications

  • Proven advanced training in engineering, information technology or equivalent
  • 8-12+ years of experience (showing upward trajectory and diverse experience across multiple teams) in Network Operations, of which 5+ years of leadership experience running a Network Operations Center (NOC)
  • 5+ years’ experience in maintaining and operating hybrid, legacy & modern network platforms
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing external parties in network operations and MSPs (e.g. TCS, HCL)
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing global carriers, ISPs and in country networks (e.g., Telia, Verizon, BT, Singtel)
  • Detailed understanding of network troubleshooting, problem isolation, network operations toolsets (sniffers)
  • Experience in managing a multi-region follow the sun operations centers, developing shift handover processes
  • Demonstrates a combination of a highly-technical engineering leader and effective relationship skills
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Deep understanding of the cost drivers in systems delivery and operations and the commercial consequences of the technical decisions made. Ability to manage and prioritize dozens of requirements, deadlines, & projects
  • Ability to understand the complexity of H&M business and the role of foundational technology as an integrated part of the business
