You will work within the Inventory optimization area which is a part of Business Tech. The Inventory Optimization area is responsible for solutions and improvements from replenishment, through stock optimization and fulfillment of orders to customers, stores, and partners. The mission is to make all inventory sellable and available for H&M groupcustomers in the most profitable and sustainable way possible. Theygenerate value by actively supporting growth and operational improvements.

This role has a dual focus including both staff responsibility for employees within a competence area, as well as contributing as a software engineer within your product team. As a competence lead you are a key enabler of the agile way of working, ensuring that employees have the best possible circumstances to develop and grow. Through your own deliveries you keep a connection with the ongoing business to remain a relevant speaking partner to the employees.  

The role as a Software Engineer is broad and will give you an opportunity to learn and use your functional knowledge, configuration, testing, development, and technical competence. We always strive to continuously build knowledge and learn beyond our current skillsets. As a Software Engineer you are expected to be part of all phases of the software development lifecycle, from idea and analysis to working solutions. You will work with agile methodologies in quarterly increments, broken down into shorter sprints. The work will be focused on the product backlog, created based on agreed product mission as well as defined objectives and key results. 

Responsibilities 
As a Competence Lead Software Engineer you will work closely with the product owner, other software engineers and business experts. Furthermore, you will collaborate with stakeholders in other product teams and enabling functions, as well as with logistics operations. This is an opportunity to try out your creative and innovative ideas – and have a significant impact on how we shape the future of fashion supply chains. You will also work with performance management and salary review, as well as support the employees’ development through continuous dialogue. You will also be taking an active part in the recruitment processes of new employees. Furthermore, you will: 

  • Translate product strategy and objectives into suitable, maintainable, and scalable solutions 
  • Collaborate closely with product owner and other cross-functional teams, share best practice solutions as well as discuss and motivate design solutions 
  • Work with professional software engineering principles and best practices for the full software development life cycle 

Who are you? 
We believe that you are a dynamic, collaborative, and curious person with previous experience of working within SAP Sales and Distribution and Materials Management. You are flexible, stress-resistant, and able to work in an environment that is not yet formalized. You have experience from working according to agile principles and have a “you build it you run it” mindset with hands-on experience of DevOps or equivalent. We also believe you have: 

  • Staff responsibility experience or potential 
  • 7+ years of work experience as a software engineer within SAP SD/MM
  • Experience from working according to agile principles 
  • Excellent English skills, both written and verbal
