Job Description

Do you have experience of products’ chemical compliance and safety? Are you passionate about research, sustainability and communication? Then read on!

Group Compliance is responsible for setting requirements to assure all H&M Group’s products are compliant with legislation and company policy. Our specialist teams cover aspects of product safety, chemical compliance, physical properties, and authority reporting.

We are now looking for a chemical compliance specialist to be responsible for textile products.

The main responsibilities within the role are:

  • Research and stay updated on relevant chemical/product regulations in all sales markets.
  • Secure that H&M Group Chemical Restrictions for specified products/materials for all brands within H&M Group are in line with customer expectations, global regulations and company goals.
  • Set, implement, update and follow up on requirements, routines, methods and guidelines connected to chemical compliance of textile products.
  • Ensure that all key stakeholders understand and are kept up to date with H&M Group’s Chemical Restrictions and related documents.
  • Work proactively with these issues to improve weak points, identify new potential risks and avoid problems reoccuring.
  • Where required, proactively initiate and drive projects for improvement within the area (e.g., public policy consultations, substitution of chemicals).
  • Internal and external coordination and networking (e.g., working groups, authorities, NGO’s

Qualifications

We are looking for you, who:

  • Hold min. a MSc in environmental science/material engineering/chemistry (or related field).
  • Have min. 2 years professional experience of chemical regulations and product compliance.
  • Have good knowledge of textile materials and production processes, preferably also textile recycling.
  • Can turn complex information into user-friendly guidelines, comfortable in reading and assimilating knowledge from scientific literature, standards and regulatory texts.
  • Have great communication and networking skills.
  • Have an excellent command of English – written and verbal.
  • Are structured and organised with a customer-centric mindset.
  • Are a team player, but also displays a high degree of integrity and self-leadership.

This is a full-time permanent contract placed at our Head Office in Stockholm, starting as soon as possible.
