Collection Developer to the Los Angeles Atelier

& Other Stories is a fashion brand offering women a wide range of shoes, bags, accessories, beauty and ready-to-wear to create their personal style, or story. Our creative ateliers in Paris, Stockholm and Los Angeles design diversified fashion collections with great attention to detail and quality. For us there’s no right or wrong when it comes to style, just possibilities and the joy of self-expression. 

We currently have 73 stores on 22 markets and offer online selling on 32 markets through Stroies.com and external partners. And we are growing!

We are now looking for a Collection Developer to our Los Angeles Atelier that will be responsible to drive the product development and secure customer needs in every product by ensuring a clear value and cost driver.

Job Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Drive the product development and secure fabric and quality for the development request as well as selections of options with the Purchase and Collection teams
  • Responsible for clearing development requests, sampling handling, assuring a satisfying communication between Purchase and Collection teams and keeping their deadlines
  • Initiate product design and choice of fabric and sketches
  • Secure clear product design comments to the Purchase Team
  • Secure customer needs in every product by ensuring a clear value driver / cost driver
  • Conduct dialogue with Collection Responsible and provide information on product level basis in order to generate higher sales
  • Drive, together with Purchase team, that the target out price can be realized for each style
  • Give input to the Collection responsible for decision process with quantity, in price, out price, margins and ISW
  • Responsible for handing over the final product information and order placement date validated with Collection Responsible to production.

We believe that our next Collection Developer have:

  • Minimum 3 years’ successful experience in a comparable position within women fashion and retail as well as production and product development
  • Preferably experience in H&M Group working methods and knowledge in the system and tools used
  • Deep knowledge of product development and understanding of the whole working procedure from customer behavior to the design, production and buying process
  • Strong commercial awareness and a genuine fashion interest
  • A sales minded core with a strong drive to always find new ways of increase selling and profitability
  • A strong entrepreneurial and creative spirit and an urge to find business opportunities for our brand
  • A positive mindset that always sees possibilities, improvements and simple solutions
  • Ability to see the overall picture and keep our customer’s perspective in mind at all times
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic ever changing environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and confidently by projecting credibility and structure
