The Global Product Compliance Department is responsible for setting requirements for the H&M Group’s consumer products according to legislation and company policy for all channels and markets. This includes product safety, labelling, chemical and physical test methods.

We are now looking for a chemical compliance specialist to be responsible for apparel, textile interior products and toys.

The main responsibilities within the role are:

  • Research relevant chemical related regulations in existing and future sales countries. Evaluate the information and set importance for H&M Group.
  • Secure that H&M Group Chemical Restrictions for specified products/materials for all brands within H&M Group are in line with customer expectations, global regulations as well as company policies.
  • Set, implement, update and follow up on requirements, routines, methods and guidelines connected to chemical compliance of textile products and toys.
  • Ensure that all key stakeholders understand and are kept up to date with H&M Group’s Chemical Restrictions and related documents.
  • Work proactively with these issues to improve weak points, identify new potential risks and avoid problems reoccuring.
  • Cooperate with relevant external parties like working groups, standard organisations, authorities and NGO’s.

Qualifications

We are looking for you, who:

  • Have a university degree in chemistry/environmental science/engineering (within a relevant field).
  •  Have at least 2 years work experience within chemical regulations and compliance. Good knowledge of REACH and classification of chemicals according to CLP/GHS.
  •  Preferably have good knowledge of materials and production processes.
  • Can read, understand and evaluate standards and regulations and turn complex information into user-friendly guidelines.
  • Are a good communicator and have great networking skills.
  • Hold excellent English skills – written and verbal.
  • Are service-minded, yet structured and organised.
  • Are a team player, but also able to work independently, take own initiatives and stay self-motivated.
