Job Description

Full-time position based in Dubai, UAE

Reporting to the Executive Director of Partnerships and Growth

The External Relations Manager is the face of HEC Paris in the UAE. He/she is responsible for building strategic relationships with the local stakeholder community, fostering business development opportunities, and supporting career and talent development initiatives for HEC Talents. Stakeholders include alumni, future and current students/participants, corporate and government entities, professional associations, and academic partners, among others.

 

Community Engagement in the UAE (30%)

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the HEC Paris alumni community and serve as a locally based focal point for alumni in the UAE;
  • Promote and support stakeholder engagement programs in collaboration with HEC Paris in Qatar, HEC Alumni, and the HEC Paris alumni community in the UAE;
  • Lead focus groups with alumni and other stakeholder groups in the UAE designed to provide local market insights, feedback, and continuous improvement to HEC Paris and HEC Paris in Qatar;
  • Be the institutional focal point for statistical reporting and data analysis concerning the alumni community in the UAE, maintaining accurate and complete alumni records on a regular basis;
  • Support in the organization of local events (alumni/HEC Paris in Qatar events).

 

Career and talent development in the region (40%)

  • Operational reporting to the Director Employer Engagement & Events (based in Paris) of HEC Talents, responsible for corporate outreach in the region;
  • Support HEC Talents in the organization of workshops/forums/job fairs to help students/participants/alumni prepare for their job search in the region;
  • According to established goals, develop and deliver an outreach strategy for new employers in the agreed upon sector(s);
  • Convey information to employers about services of HEC Talents, with a constant view to increasing depth and breadth of opportunities;
  • Generate contact with local and regional organizations, companies, and recruitment firms to create awareness about hiring HEC Paris students and graduates;
  • Advise prospective and current employers on the optimal strategy to attract and recruit students using the tools and services of both HEC Talents, and the wider corporate partnerships offer;
  • Research market trends to develop opportunities with new employers, and report on these monthly and in team meetings.

 

Business Development in the UAE (30%)

  • Act as a knowledgeable representative for HEC Paris in Qatar offerings in the region, attending relevant events, conferences, and industry gatherings to enhance HEC Paris visibility in the UAE;
  • Build and maintain relationships with key influencers, decision-makers, organizations, and clients to foster partnerships that align with HEC Paris mission and goals;
  • Identify and cultivate leads for degree and corporate executive programs through targeted outreach, networking, and relationship-building activities;
  • Support Alumni referral program for degree programs offered by HEC Paris in the region and in Paris;
  • Work collaboratively with Recruitment/Sales Teams in Qatar to facilitate the conversion of leads into enrolled participants and corporate clients;
  • Provide industry intelligence and report on developments in management education in the UAE, including market insights and competitive analysis.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business or related field preferred
  • 10+ years’ work experience, preferably in the higher education industry
  • HEC Paris alumni are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Previous experience in alumni and community engagement, talent acquisition, talent development, learning and development, and executive search is preferred
  • Track record in data management (data collection, reporting and analysis) and advanced excel skills
  • Experience in using social media to communicate to specific populations
  • Strong organizational and project planning skills, ability to multi-task
  • Track record in fostering relationships with various stakeholders
  • Ability to strategize, build and implement constituency programs and events
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively with varied stakeholders, including senior executives
  • Ability to anticipate problems and generate solutions quickly
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
  • Energetic, strong work ethic, initiative, an eye for detail and brand conscious
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic is a strong advantage; French is a plus. Communicate with precision and tact
  • Strong public speaking and presentation capability in business development, training, event contexts
  • Prior experience in UAE and/or GCC preferred
  • Available for business travel and extended hours, as well as some weekends
