Job Description

Research project on diversity and innovation 

Internship position reporting to the Associate Professor of Entrepreneurial Leadership and Diversity 

For this research, we are focusing on organizations in the Energy, Finance and STEM sectors. The areas have been traditionally male-dominated and still have pockets that need to be more diverse. Furthermore, these areas have a strong focus on innovation to create new products, services, and ways of working.

We will collect data from individuals across the organization. For each organization to participate in the research, we will need at least 50 respondents. We are aiming to have 5 companies from each of the following regions:

Europe | North America | Middle East

The data collection comprises of a self-administered questionnaire. We are collecting data from men and women in the same organization. We need to include male respondents as a baseline and to demonstrate the degree to which the differences we have discussed are correlated to the gender of respondents.

We will enhance the surveys by conducting interviews with leaders to share their perspectives and experiences of entrepreneurial leadership.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

June:

  • Identify and recruit organizations for data collection

July - August:

  • Map out context for the report: secondary data
  • Prepare survey tool – pilot

Qualifications

  • University student enrolled in a business study program or fresh graduate
  • Demonstrated interest in diversity and innovation 
  • Research skills: ability to use Survey tools (Qualtrix / MS Teams Forms…)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Organized and proactive
  • Able to work independently to achieve milestones set in agreement with project lead
  • Prompt and strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent command of English spoken and written

Internship terms and conditions

  • From June to August 2023 ; 
  • A minimum of 20 hours of work per week ; 
  • Work is performed in person on Campus (working remotely is not an option);  
  • Monthly internship allowance.
